This May bank holiday weekend we have been busy strimming, pruning and mowing the lavender getting ready for opening The Lavender Field on Saturday 21st June. It is changing daily and the first buds have just appeared in the last couple of days.

This coming week I am getting ready for a busy weekend ahead.

🎪 We have three Market Stalls this month. For those who haven’t visited our stall before, we sell a range of hand crafted lavender gifts either made by us here at the farm or for us by other small businesses and include, essential oil, floral water, candles and wax melts, body lotion, flower presses, dried bunches and gift boxes. Most are also on the website and available from The Yard when open or by appointment.

🎪Saturday 10th May, 10am - 4pm Barkway Market, SG8 8BT

🎪Sunday 11th May 12 noon - 4pmEco Feast, Hertford, SG14 1HR

🎪Sunday 18th May 10am - 2pm  Local Produce & Craft Market, Tudor Square WARE, SG12 9XF.

💜Saturday 21st June 11am - 4pm The Lavender Field opens Fridays - Sundays June, July & August, pick your own, refreshments, shop, plants.

Last month I spoke about a market here at Mentley. I now have further details.

🐶 Sunday 29th June 10am - 3pm Family Day Market stalls, refreshments, barbecue, possibly a dog show, just waiting for confirmation. It will be a ticketed event and tickets will be available on the website in the next few days.

If you are a stall holder looking for new venues or are interested in becoming one and learning what is involved, I can put you in touch with various organisers. Markets were never part of my business plan (not that I ever wrote one!) but they are a great way to meet people and spread the word about your business and I have also made some great friends in the other stall holders and organisers.
