April - Pruning

Good Morning Louise here. 😊

🌱Well now spring really has sprung the list of outdoor jobs has just increased. Our second pollytunnel Anna is full of lavender babies waiting to be potted on which I’ll show you on another day but the other big job is pruning in The lavender Field which I began yesterday. You can see in the photo, the 3 rows directly ahead and to the left and half of the first right one look greener than the other rows. This is because I have removed the old brown spikes to expose the new green shoots by lightly pruning including a little of the new green growth. This wakes them up, promotes growth and allows more light on to the plants. If your lavender is looking a bit brown then you can do the same. You can use clippers or. just scissors will do to trim it and watch it grow!🌱

Speak soon and if you are passing The lavender Field and see me with my little clippers with lots of rows to do give me a wave!

Speak soon
